Most Bochdalek's hernias occur on the left side, allowing protrusion of the abdominal viscera into the chest. Previously unrecognized Bochdalek's hernia in adults is often diagnosed incidentally.

  1. I have had a cat scan w/contrast of the chest and a Bochdalek hernia was noticed on the right side. Is this possible? I do have pain below the breast on the right side and I have had a problem with breathing at times, which recently required E.R. visit by ambulance. They did not obviously see the hernia, if in fact it is there. What other test can confirm the hernia? I would appreciate a response if possible.
