Greek Heritage Festival in Cleveland, Ohio

The Greek or Hellenic (which is ancient for Greek) Heritage Festival is almost right in downtown Cleveland. The downtown is seen in the distance on the picture.

The Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 2187 West 14th St. is the first Greek Orthodox Church in Cleveland, completed in the 1920s. On Memorial Day weekend, the church hosts the Greek Heritage Festival.

There are traditional Greek dances everyday at 3 PM during the 3-day festival. The festival boast a huge attendance in part due to the Greek cuisine marvels served.

The gyros and souvlaki are delicious and so are the salty pastries (left) and the sweets - baklava and others (right).
